Shooting is focus, form and timing. It takes lots of practice, but it is the most fun drill to practice. When you strike the ball(the moment of contact), your feet should be about shoulder-width apart and the knee on your kicking leg should be over (not behind) the ball. Also, your ankle should be locked when you strike the ball (using your instep for an accuracy shot or your laces[top of the cleat] for a power shot). That is form. This means you have to plant your non-kicking leg properly to achieve that form when the ball is struck. That is timing.

For example, if you are striking the ball with your right foot and the ball is centered across from the right wing, you will plant your left foot with the ball still inches or feet (depending on the speed) to your right so that when you strike it is lined up right where your form is best.

Practicing this will require great focus on the ball and awareness of the goal. Good luck!!

You have to concentrate on hitting the ball. You should see your foot hit the ball. Look at the goal when you are running toward it and pick a spot to shoot. But, don't look up at the goal when you're kicking, keep your head down and kick through the ball. Practice this against a fence or a goal until you can hit the spot most times.

Practice your kicking. Ask another person to watch you and how you kick. This is certainly a start. Then, try to correct based on what the person tells you. Or, maybe your coach can tell you based on what he or she sees. I cannot tell you exactly because I am not there to see you kick.

Practice, practice, practice, and more practice. You have to keep at it until you get it right. Practice with other people so you have a challenge, but really the key is to just keep at it - don't quit.
