Not like, phobias (snakes spiders heights) but what makes you run away, what gets in your head and keeps you scared, what are your nightmares about??

I personally have never found archetypes (snakes, spiders, heights) to be as scary as some of the much more misunderstood things inside my mind. Being a believer in reincarnation, it is easy to sttribute of fear of heights, for example, to having fallen in a previous existence and remembering that experience.

Experimenting with psychedelics, such as psilocybin, has offered me evidence of the complexity of the architecture of the universe and these journeys have both put me at ease and frightened me at the same time.

The things that have put me the most at unease are those things which are unexplainable with words, despite language or dialect; rather, things that defy description with available human vocabulary. The feeling of falling into an absolute void, for example, or encountering an entity that has no known physical properties...

things of this nature are more unsettling to me.

In my opinion, a common thread between humans is fearing what we do not understand, whether that relates to relationships, prejudice, religion or things buried in the dark abysmal recesses of our minds.

Tornados. A couple of years ago I was stuck in the stands of a baseball field with 2000 teenagers, other teachers, and adults and the sirens went off for a tornado warning. It was absolutely terrifying. I've had nightmares about that day ever since.

Well.... We live on top of a mountain in NC 3 miles away from the highway on a dirt road. And a few times at night my brother Justin (he's 20 almost 21) went out walking. He walked to a horse pasture which is about... At least half a mile away from our house. He said when he was walking home it looked like a dark shadow was following him. He really got freaked out so he ran all the way back to our house (which is gradually going up hill the whole way). And he like never gets scared but that just really gave him the creeps. That happened last year. I (I'm a very mature 11) totally forgot about it until last week. I had a dream that it was night and i was by that horse pasture. There was barely any light from the moon and i was barefooted. I saw a dark shadow moving closer fast. I got a horrible feeling from it so i started running in my dream, running as fast as i could on gravel in my bare feet. I remember tripping when i got to our driveway and that shadow was right behind me i got this absolutely horrible feeling and tried to scream.. And then i woke up shaking and sweating as if i had really been running. I have never been that scared before in my life. And that dream was totally out of the blue because i haven't read any H.P. Lovecraft in a while and i haven't seen any actually scary movies in years.
What is really weird to me is that same night My brother Michael (he's 15)had a dream he was in our old house in florida in my old room and there was a shadow coming out of the closet..And he got a really bad feeling from it. That's where we always got weird feelings from when me and him shared a room in fl.
Me and Michael told my brother Eli (he's 26) And he thinks it's really weird that we both had a dream with the same feelings seeing that shadow. He thinks that maybe it was the same shadow thing coming to see us in our dreams. *Shivers*

What scares me is there being nothing after this life..It scares me to think there's no god, no reason, no purpose. I am scared that once you die that's it game over. I mean whats the point of it all then..i am scared of life being meaningless and empty with the end result not existing..not existing wow that would suck. It really scares me to think that we love, hate fear and emote for nothing. That we exist just because and then when we die goodbye, i will never feel or think or love again and all the people that came before meant nothing...What if its a big black hole....damn

When I start thinking about what a terrible state the world is in (morally, economically, naturally) and where humanity is headed, I get really unsettled. I imagine that my children's children will have to live with terrible conditions, if the world is here for them to live in at all.

That the masses behind me will be in control when they are older yet they have no clue of the basics of life and the hardships this country has gone through to be who we are.

Kids today lack SO MUCH basic info that I had as a child.
