If you are doing it to get apples like the apple they came from, forget it. Just about all apple varieties are hybrids and their seeds are usually sterile. If some do grow they will be sterile, that is they won't get fruit. And if a few do get fruit it will likely be something like one of the plants that was used to make the hybrid. And if you do get a plant that would make the same apple they usually need pollinated by an apple tree of a certain different variety.
If you just want a shade tree there are lots of better choices than an apple tree.

apple seeds need to go through a DORMANT time..so the best way is to put ur seeds in a paper bag,put in the frig for about 3-4 months.after that get a good potting soil and place them in a good container. place in the sun and water them .make sure u don't over water for the seeds will rot away. ater they start to break through the dirt, find the best place with full sun and good open air..making sure u keep them watered daily.the best time to plant is early spring after the fear of frost is gone....lots of luck.

i would drown them. sandwich them in a piece of thick paper towel, soak the paper towel, and put that whole...''assembly'' into a plastic bag. seal it up, make sure there's some air in it so it's about...oh an inch tall for an average sandwich baggie. put it next to a south facing window, and check it every day, make sure it does not get dry.. keep it damp all the time, not swimming in water, just...ya know...damp. maybe a few drops of water runnin' around in there with nowhere else to go. the seeds will grow and when you see green, plant them, green-side-up, of course :-)

Plant them in the ground around good soil. Use something like Miracle Gro potting soil. Place some little rocks around the area where you have planted so you will know where it is and just watch for growth. Good luck.
