Recently I have connected my front USB panel with the Motherboard. Then I plugged the Flash drive and it didn't work. I tried it on another PC but it's not working.

I think something had gone wrong when I connected the Front panel with the M/B. I'm not quite sure about the pin connections.

Can wrong pin connections damage a Flash drive?
Do you think the drive can be repaired? If so ,how?

you cant simply connect the front usb wire to your motherboard without knowing the actual diagram. refer to the motherboard manual. on board front usb connector have a voltage, data and other pin. if wrongly connected it'll damage any devices that connected to it, for sure! normally the devices cannot be repair.

make sure it is installeed on the MB and check in the control panel-maintainance-system device manager and see if it is installed if a cd came with this use it then try to put your flash drive in if that dont work then the MB is based on USB 1.0 if thats the case it will never work unitl u upgrade your USB to 1.1 or 2.0

call your flash drive manufacturer, or check their website.

Typically, things under 2 years since you bought them are still under warranty, and you can probably get it replaced. Just don tell you you messed up on the USB connections!

Tell them you plugged it in one day and it stopped working. Otherwise they will blame it on you and get out of the warranty!

Yea, thats possible: that mis-connected pins ruined the drive... It probably can't be repaired, but since they're so cheap nowadays, its better to just replace it.
