Depends on how old the kid is since the brain develops so much untill it reaches full growth at age 18-20 it would make it Important to get the right amount of sleep. For kids 12 and under I would say 9:10 and For Teenagers we should sleep from 9:00pm untill school but most Teens go to Bed at 11:30pm or later. That's not good for your Attitude or Brain or Body. I mean guys do you really think that Sexy girl at school willl like you when you have Blood red eyes and messed up Hair. No I don't think so not even a desperate ctholic school girl would go for that.

There's not a set time, but be practical in bedtime hours. A child needs 8-10 hours of sleep, even more so than adults. I would suggest from 4-6 bedtime be about 8pm. From 7-9 you might feel comfortable stretching the bedtime to 8:30-9:00... keep in mind as your child exhibits more responsibility with homework, chores, adjustments in school and home life, and is able to successfully handle it, then those allowances can be made.
A teenager is likely to be defiant with those early bedtimes, so use your judgment on that as well. I don't have a teenager, so I can't give advice on that matter.
Also, so much changes the older a child becomes, such as television. Shows on tv, after 8pm aren't as conservative, and you have to understand that a child is exposed to that, same as the Internet. If you find your young one falling asleep in class the following day, then it's obvious they need to go to bed earlier. Best of luck to you~

Well, when my kids were babies and napping, they fell asleep when they fell asleep - usually around 10. Once they stopped napping during the day they last until about 8, sometimes 9.
To determine the best time the child should go to bed, figure out when you want them up and how many hours you think they should sleep and do the math. Currently my 6 year old sleeps about 10 hours but my 3 yr old sleeps about 12.
Peace!

it all depends on the age of the child... i think being a 19 year old college student, that from the ages 7-11 they should go to bed around 830 but kids from the age of 11-16 about 930- any older and i belive that no later then 12. unless they are over the age of 20 in wihich case... whenever they feel like it

If they are under 13, I would say between 9-10pm. Between 13-15 10-10:30pm. By 16 your kid should be able to know when they need to go to bed, but I'd say latest would be midnight.
