Krypton's star did not go supernova. Just the planet exploded.

Unless DC has changed the mythos (again!) recently, it was not a supernova that blew up Krypton. It was 'internal stresses' or the fact that uranium was accumulating in the planet's core and would eventually make it explode like a gigantic atom bomb.
Kryptonite was not indestructible like most Kryptonian things, but it was friction proof. This means that a K meteor would not burn up in the atmosphere, but would reach the ground in its original size. It could be broken up into smaller pieces just like any other rock, with a sledgehammer, for example.

What supernova are you talking approximately? Are you under the impact that the sunlight will supernova? Our sunlight is nowhere close to special adequate to ever bypass supernova. this is going to at last develop right into a purple massive then shrink right into a white dwarf. yet no longer supernova. Regardless this is a minimum of three-5 BILLION years away, no longer 5 million. by way of then humanity will the two be long extinct, or could have moved out into area long, long formerly that occurs.

When you say Supernova do you mean Sephiroth's awesome Planet destroying move in Final Fantasy VII or that God awful reality show w/ Tommy Lee?
LOL
Sorry, couldn't resist. Actually, Krypton didn't supernova, it became unstable and imploded *I believe*

Actually Krypton was destroyed by "unstable geological events". So in theory it (kryptonite) is no harder then other elements and materials of similar molecular compostition.
I provided a Wikipedia and DC link for you just incase you want proof of Krypton's destruction.
