My guess is sulfur. It was named back when names were chosen according to human impression of outstanding characteristics of an element

Well, rubidium is named after the reddish-violet color of its flame, and sunburnt skin becomes red in tone. "Rubidium" doesn't actually contain an English word for this condition, but it's the closest thing I can find.
