I use gparted to do all my partitioning - and there has been alot.

It is great because it is very self explanitory, extreemly powerful and best of all it is free.

You also won't loose all your data if you follow the instructions, and it is completely graphical, so it is so easy to use you could get away without reading the instructions at all.

Link is below. It is about 20 Mb, so download it and give it a try. Because it won't cost you anything you have nothing to loose, and if you don't commit your changes, you can play arround safely without damaging your data. That is until you are confident.

winxp installed? if not yet install it's easy. i assume winxp installed inside your laptop. if that the case you can use norton utilities software (norton partition magic) to create additional partition. personally, i prefer creating partition while installing winxp.
