we have three teens in the house, 17, 15, 13, and a 9 year old, they all pick up their laundry, every single day, know why? because they get a severe B**locking if they dont, but seriously the reason we try to get them to do this and other household stuff is, one day we wont be there to do it for them, so they gotta learn how to look after themselves, consequently they all know how to clean, they all know how to do laundry, and they all know how to cook and budget a weeks groceries and bills, so we know for sure, they wont go hungry, they wont be cold, and they will be well keot in clothes that last longer because they're looked after. incidentally, we dont just tell them what to do, we show them working right beside them, so we're not just exploiting them and getting them to do our work for us as some teens would like to see it, besides which, when we all work together, the works done a hell of a lot quicker and we can all get on with the fun side of our lives.

i'm 15 and i pick my towel and underwear off the floor all the time but other things like my homework, school books and some clothes i leave on the floor because i cant be bpthered to pick them up... but if the clothes are dirty i put them in the wash, because my mum made it clear she wasnt going to pick anything up whether it needed washing or not!

i always had my own towels, don;t know why, but i did. i would have a shower in the morning and dump the towel on my floor, which was rug. i would ether hang it up in the hallway to dry, or forget it in my room. i also yous to undress at night and through my clothing on the floor, and pick it up when my mom said that she was going to do laundry. but when i was in a particularly clean mode, i through the clothing into a laundry basket.

My kids don't. They say they do that so they can "keep me on my toes".

The elf hasn't appeared at my house, yet!
