This is normal for the most part. If the clot was dark, then don't worry about it. It's probably 'old' blood.
However, if the clot was bright red, then you should see a doctor.
When you have your period and it's heavy like this, walking a lot tends to make you bleed more. Lifting anything heavy will make you bleed more.
The clots should go away in a couple of days. If they don't then go to the doctors and get checked out.
Take some motrin, and some midol.
Stay away from anything salty.
Hope you feel better.

alot of factors determine what type of period we will have.

-age
-possible hormone imbalances
-stress involvement
-pre-existing illnesses

i am 27 and a mother of 3. my periods were very heavy and i passed alot of clots about a year ago. it got so bad that i become anemic and eventually had surgery to stop my periods.

passing clots can be very normal as long as you aren't passing an excessive amount and they aren't very large in size. if you are going through more than one pad or tampon in an hour then you need to report to the emergency room.

check with your doctor if it continues-there might be an underlying problem causing the clots. with me it was fibroids on my ovaries and inside my uterus.

You could be under severe stress, or have fibroids
If I were you I would consult with my doctor, it sounds serious

Goodluck!!!!!
