I was on Paxil and it caused me to gain around 50 lbs. I was on it for 3-4 years though. It increased my appetite and therefore also increased my weight gain. I've been through a lot of medicines and they've all had me increase my weight because they tend to make me more hungry. But all of them are different for every person.

Currently i'm on Wellbutrin XL, Topomax, and Seroquel. The Topomax actually decreases all the weight gain that might I get from the Wellbutrin and I got all the 50lbs from the Paxil off from it too. Whoever you might be seeing would know the best medicines you should be on though. And if you might know that your medicine is causing you to gain weight you could start exercising more and reducing calorie intake (something which I failed to do). I started my medicines when I was 10 so i didn't know everything.

There is no antidote to weight-gain caused by antidepressants.

The ones that cause the most weight-gain are:-most of the old tricyclics, mirtazapine, and,to a lesser extent, paroxetine.
