A couple problems with your question.
The US calls Cuba a non-democracy because they do not allow partisan elections, even the communist party is not allowed to sponsor canidates. Actually Cuba is a true democracy because canidates are only allowed to sponsor themselves, there are NO parties, even though Castro is a communist. BTW Raul Castro is a socialist, not a communist

The second point, there is an active communist party in the US in almost all states that have not banned them!

American Communists do participate in the elections. They are just not widely publicized. Our two party system should be remodeled to promote a greater degree of participation, but it should still be recognized that the communists get their chance at the polls the same as greens, independents, and libertarians do.

i don't think you quite understand what a democracy is. A democracy allows the people to choose what issues/parties they wish to support. If noone wants to support the American Communists, then noone is going to support the American Communists, which has been the case for the last hundred years. Noone WANTS communists in power in the U.S. because unlike all the retards in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, we know it's a B A D idea.

Don't kid yourself. They do participate. They hold high office. They are influencial members of the media and academic community. They tax the productive citizens and re-distribute the money in exchange for votes.

They just don't call themselves "Communists" or "Socialists" or "State Capitalists."

Still, a totalitarian by any other name, would stink as much.
