no doubt, roger *the king* federer.lol..ten titles so far this year(not to mention that he's the only one who has got at least 10 titles for 3 consecutive years),has a very good record on each surfaces(except maybe on clay),very consistent, and is very positive person.and also,he has broken his own ranking points for a few times.this shows that he is improving.although sometimes he loses, that doesn't mean he's bad.bear in mind that no one is perfect in this world..so i think he really really really deserves the title 'THE TENNIS KING OF 2006'!=p

For me Nadal is the king although Federer is more successful and probably very difficult to beat Nadal has proven that Roger is still human and can still be beaten. Take note that the only blemishes on Federer's record this year were caused by Nadal. In Federer's win-loss record of 82-5, 4 of those losses came from Nadal. It came in the finals of Dubai, Monte Carlo. Rome and Roland Garros. If Nadal wasn't around men's tennis would be very predictable and boring like when the Williams sisters were winning everything in the tour. At least with Nadal's presence there is still a contest.

Definitely Roger Federer, the ATP rankings have already been set for the year even though there are still more tournaments in the season. There aren't enough prize points to the winner in any of the tournaments left to catch up with him, not even Nadal can pull that off. It's mathematically impossible for anyone to beat Roger in the rankings.

I still choose Roger to be 2006's best, because he played a great year, even if he lost at the French and to Murray in Cincinnati. He wasn't playing his best in Cincinnati, and he had had a tough week in Canada the week before, and then with the US Open coming up I'm sure he wanted a bit of a rest. Disappointed the heck out of me, I was going to the finals in Cincinnati and was expecting to see him there... But anyway, his year was great and he smashed alot of world records and his own personal records. The best is yet to come.

Even though Federer is #1 and has won 10 titles thi year I consider Rafa and only Rafa as the King of tennis.
RAFA ROCKS!!!!!!!

Rafa has defeated Federer 6 times in 8 meetings.
Federer does not respect Rafa but fears him. Don't you think that is mean and cowardly.
But Rafa on the contrary respects Federer but does not fear him. I think that is sportsmanship.

Rafa has a lot of talent and capability to be the best.

I also like Andy Murray very much. As you stated he has defeated Federer once in 2 meetings. But he needs to get consistent. He is really great and has a lot of talent.

Federer

He wasn't playing his greatest at the US Open and still won. And yes, Andy Murray defeated Federer, but don't forget that Federer had already played like over 3 tournament before that and never really tried. Don't get mad at me yet, Murray did play good. You have to play good to even hang with Federer. And no, maybe Federer will never win on clay, but he rules every other surface.

federer is the king even though i prefer nadal to federer anytime.federer is this almost unbeatable guy winning all slams except the french.even in minor tournaments he always reaches the finals(except once when defeated by murray).i think he definitely is the king of tennis.

Any Roddick is going to get hot with Conners as his coach. He has already showed much promise recently. Blake would be a close second, but he seems to choke in the grand slams one way or another and can't get the big wins. Roddick can and their competition will make them both better trying to outdo the other.

Definitely Federer, the results speak for themselves. The rest are all top players but none of them deserve the so called title of 'King'.

I can't believe Chuck isn't on the list, he owns all of us. King: I nominate David for the king of TS, because he's so cool. Queen: I nominate Milica for Queen of TS, because she is a great member and a TC and the most consistent member so I think she deserves it.
