i've lived in a nice apartment complex right on the bay for close to seven years now. in just one year the rent went up twice. the deck hasn't been fixed ever since hurricane wilma struck. when my AC broke, they took close to a month to replace it. i have neighbors who let their dogs loose in the hallways to do their business (and i have pets). i have no screens on my windows. i know the manager wants to help, but the property owner is the one who is financially responsible. by the way, the rent increase was to fix the deck. we've gone a year now and nothing has been done. help!!

time to find a better managed place to live. you can not force someone to make repairs that are not life threating and also they will look at ways to evict you if you cause too many problems
