I find that word puzzles, crosswords in particular, are wonderful for increasing your vocabulary. Also next year's calandars are out, grab a page-a-day calandar with a "word of the day" theme going on. Enhancing your vocabulary is an ongoing process but does not have to be unpleasant. Just don't be afraid of using big words if you know them.

Sure. Just type in vocabulary, lots of books for adults that help you make more words for you brain.
