come on people, vlad guererro, ichiro, barry bonds??? no albert pujols by far, he has been at the top of the charts on almost every hitting stat including homeruns, batting average, and runs batted in, and with derrick lee out most of the season, he should get a gold glove, he should have had a couple already but he has change positions several times (LF and 3B), ryan howard is a distant second but like pujols, he is young and should get alot better

I'll join the consensus here - Albert Pujols.
There may be more gifted all-around players; Beltran and A-Rod are more classic 5-tool players. But, Pujols is the best hitter in the game, has made himself into a very good first baseman, is an above average baserunner, a great competitor and a winner.
