i actually see a lot of progress being made and more ought to be made against diseases, infections, bacterias and viruses. yes, i am a biologist hopeful and know that we as humans are advancing all through out the world, i mean we already have PCR for Pete's Sake! what we are short on sometimes is money since so many people are working on simultaniously or time since it is a race vs. time!i see Molecular Biologists and Microbilogists make huge advances that will impact the way we deal with viruses! we have the smartes people on Earth from Harvard, Princeton, Yale,Baylor, Oxford, you name it work around the clock to find a cure for a virus! in the future medications that might help slow down the virus will be available but it will take much longer for results on HIV or AIDS!

well from what my doctor always told me and from what I have read, you cannot cure viruses, they have to run their course. Taking antibiotics for viruses is a waist of time and money. My doctor also told me that when you catch a virus, you will never catch that same virus again, you might catch a different strain of that virus, viruses are constantly mutating into other viruses.
