who ever said egypt isnt safe probably never visited egypt.

Egypt is TOTALLY safe. trust me, ive lived here all my life, and i've never felt the least bit frightened.

Politically its very stable..nothing going on that much. just our president and his ministers pocketing all our money...nothing to worry about.

Safety: extremely safe..you can walk almost anywhere by yourself at night. (ofcourse stay away from the shady places). There is like 0.1% burgarly and 0% murder going on here...and mostly it occurs in poor places.

Some Advice: there are alot of beggars...so just walk away..pretend you dnt hear them. also, dont wear miniskirts or very revealing tops. No one will do anything..but u'll get stares from the guys, not b/c ure indecent..but b/c they can see ur legs and cleavage.

All in all: egypt is a great wonderful place, filled with amazing history.

o and if you come to cairo..visit city stars (the mall) for soem great shopping (visit shops like mango and vero moda, la senza, quiksilver, givenchy and many more..)

Have Fun!!

I met someone on a flight back from Europe several weeks ago who spent 2 weeks in Egypt on a guided tour with 3 other people and he said he felt fine.

He said he felt a large military presence- alot of heavily armed police and soldiers at key spots throughout Cairo and other parts but other wise- it was good.

BTW- he said he visited the pyramids, took a 3 day cruise up the Nile, spent sometime in Alexandria and I forgot the name of that other famous City where the King are buried.

Hope this helps but indeed, safe travels and enjoy yourself.

( Security is so tight on these international flights now that in actuallity, I feel very safe. There are probably one or two armed marshals on your flight so the safety concerns should not be while you're in the air.)

Safe as houses - there less than a year ago and there's no tension, feeling of insecurity.

Tourism is a big part of Egypt's bread and butter: lose that and the country will suffer. There's loads of police at tourist sites as a result.

Perhaps try not to stick out as a loud, disrespectful Westerner in attitude and dress and you'll have a great time!

I work in Egypt, security is perfect, absolutely nothing to worry about.

As for the political scene, it is the same since the early 80's, not much going on, very stable, no elections in the near future. No demonstrations.

In a nut shell, things here are just fine, so come on over.

Let me know if you have any further queries.

I was in Egypt for 10day..traveling alone..and I felt so safe. The Egyptians were so friendly and accommodating. If you stay on the tourist paths...you'll be fine.

Enjoy.....wish I was back there already
