Michael Johnson was confident in his own ability, and always focused on himself. This self-focus allowed him to block out all distractions and things he could not control, and enabled him to make a 'mental checklist' of what he needed to do in his race

Read his autobiography, written shortly after his 200m & 400m Olympic Games double at the 1996 ATL OG - Slaying the Dragon. It is a great book, and gives you an true ensight into MJ's life and his ups and downs and journey up to those magical OG. You will find it somewhere like eBay or Amazon for a decent price
