My family is thinking of taking maybe a 5 day trip up to around the Colorado/Wyoming area. Any suggestions on the best place to go to see the natural beauty of the mountains?

If you have never seen Yellowstone Park, it would be the one place I would return to see mountains, geysers and a myriad of thermal activity in that area. It is a photographers dream with the the Grand Teton Mountain range to the south of the park. You would also get a large diversity of animal life all along the way.

Take I 25 through Wyoming. The Rockies are beside you all the way.
My favorite is the North Cascade Highway through Washington State. It will close for the year soon but there is no pretier place on Earth.

Yellowstone National Park is beautiful and you can see more there than just mountains. Geysers, hot springs, and other wildlife are great along with the wonderful view of the mountains.
