The actual date of shakespeares birth is not known, but as children were required to be batised on the nearest sunday or holy day closest to their birth and the registry of the holy trinity parish church Straford shows an entry on April 26th 1564. This was unusual as the day before was a HOly day being Tuesday 25th St Marks Day. This date was said to be bad luck so it was assumed that the entry was made the next day which was APril 26th. So people accept the date for his birth as Sunday April 23rd of that year as if it had been one day earlier he would have been batised on that SUnday and he wasnt.
