It depends on what nutrient you over dosed on. If you are in the vegetative stage you are probably referring to a nitrogen overload. If so the first sign will be the tips and 2 1/8th of the leaf will turn brown and curl. If you have too much magnesium you will notice the edges of the leaves curl up and stiffen. Too much phosphorous may cause the leaves to curl down and in. If you have a bad soil or diseased water you may see the leaves puff out like an umbrella and curl in at the tip and the edges. If you see red on the stem or the leaves veins you have too much sodium more than likely from watering with soften water.
Only feed every 2 - 3 watering for soil set ups. You should have to water more than once a week. If you are than the area is either too hot or the container is too small. If you are growing hydro you should go back to the basics first and start with soil.
