Excuse me, to those who think that children aren't as harmful as cigarettes, I have two words for you: ANDREA YATES!!

Please do! I never allowed ours to act like what we see nowadays. My kids KNEW the meaning of no and didn't dare keep pushing it. I would never have even entertained the thought of telling one of my parents to shut the bleep up--not if I wanted to still have my teeth anyways!

I notice that some of you people view this as more of a political statement than a health issue. On the other hand, the article does stipulate that the group of people vying for this ban is liberals and Democrats. Since, one party is stated in the article, this in itself makes it a political statement. The question you have to ask yourself is “why would a group that lobbies so heavily on eliminating the use of tobacco products be so passionate about eliminating an alternative?” I don’t want to politicize it ever further, but isn’t the Republicans supposed to be in the pockets of big tobacco? Anyhow, by using E Cigarettes, which is still an unproven commodity, do they pose a condition that might kill you more than cigarettes?

lol - no. An annoying kid doesn't really compare. What the heck kind of bubble do we live in that smoking is going to be banned everywhere? I'm not evil if I have a smoke for goodness sake! So silly, suck it up people - you're getting sicker from automobile emissions - act on that!
Thanks for your comment - it can be hard to take all the discrimination. I agree with the no smoking inside thing, but outside/public places is over the top. There are a lot of us smokers out there, so it'll never happen anyway - law or not. Whatev, we will quit when we're ready.

I feel that banning smoking in publc places is discrimination....It is like telling gays that they can't attend church because of the decision that they made. I hate these uptight holier-than-thou people that choose to make laws based on what they want and not what other people think. So yes, if they can ban smokes in public places, think that kids should also be banned....

I think they should ban kids from smoking in public places. There's a shopping center down the street from where I live where stupid teenagers go smoke after school.

I completely agree. And I'm a mom! There are just some places kids should not be allowed, out of consideration for other people's health and sanity.Like upscale restaurants, bars and after 8 pm on weeknights at movie theaters, for starters!!

No offence but I hate smokers with a passion. Youre stupid smoke with all it's damn chemicals is always stinking up everything and giving people heart problems and cancer. Little Kids are just annoying little bastards who may bug you but don't do any long term damage like cigarettes do.

Only if their children are doing physical and long-term damage to you, perhaps with tiny little poison darts? Most kids aren't as harmful to you as your cigarettes are to them.
