because people are stupid. one little person makes a little noise about something and the rest of the country predictably like cattle goes with the flow not knowing the whole story.

They're only upset because she wasn't the first to do it, so they think she's doing it for publicity. Angelina (the home wrecker, I agree) did it first so they assume she is doing it from a higher moral standpoint...
I personally don't care. I think whatever reason they are doing it, at least they are doing it. And I applaud Madonna for carrying on and building an orphanage as well.
Maybe these kids will gain from all the media attention. And that's the main point really, isn't it?

Maybe you should read today's newspaper. The father of the little boy is illiterate and he assumed, along with others from their tribe, that Madonna was taking the boy temporarily to help educate him and so that he could come back and help other members of their tribe. An investigation has been opened because the father should have been told by a translator it was an adoption but according to other witnesses he wasn't. So basically it's illegal for her to take custody of that child.

Because international adoptions aren't legal in Malawi (in some African countries, like Ethiopia, where Brangelina adopted from they are legal.)

So basically, no matter what the situation really is it *looks* like Madonna is using her considerable clout to go against - or at least very much around - Malawi law.
And it's annoying when celebrities use their clout to get around *any* law, particularly laws designed to prevent the bying and selling of babies on the black market.

...which, Madonna's lawyers, I am in no way implying that Madonna is doing.

It seems ( only my opinion), that movie stars seem to want to adopt foreign children for people to notice them and think that they are unselfish and giving. Sort of a status thing. However, there are many children in the United States that need homes. Why not adopt them?

Angelina adopted an orphan, and she did it in the proper legal way.

Madonna adopted a child that already has a family, and she did it illegally. Plus, I hear that she wasn't even home to welcome the kid when he got there.

I really don't think it's anybodys bussiness, this guys other 2 children have died from malaria and his wife died as well, I look at it like, she is giving this baby a chance to have a life, even the father says so, knowing if he kept his baby, there would be a chance of it dying. The way I look at it, she is doing a good thing, she even donated millions to their country, if I had her money, I should hope I would do something as wonderful.

The father wanted her to take him to increase his quality of life. I think it is best for the child. She needs to make sure he knows about his culture. She also needs to keep in touch with that unselfish father.
