Hitler was into mysticism and thought he was Aryan so he took the Hindu (the Aryans migrated to India) symbol for eternal life and used it as the symbol for the Nazi party, thinking the party would live forever.

The six-pointed star (two triangles, just like the star of David) is also a Hindu symbol of Saraswati, the goddess of Knowledge (among other things). So on some schools in India and Nepal, you will see the Svastika right next to the Star of David.

It's hard to believe, but Hitler was a follower of Buddhism. I don't know if he actually practiced it or not, but he had a high regard for the religion. His swastika is actually derived from a Buddhist symbole, except that the Nazi swastika is "flipped."
