When I was 13, I was allowed to wear a little bit of makeup, I had friends and went to school dances and such. I did have a boyfriend, but not really dating. I think 13 is kind of young for "dating". If your parents think that 13 is too young for these things, then you should respect their wishes and wait till they think you are old enough and mature enough for these things. Be a kid while you still can.........the grown up stuff will come all too soon and you will wish you could have stayed a kid for a while longer......

You can have the best life ever at 13!
My youngest daughter will be 13 in one week - so I will share some of our family 'traditions' (rules!)...
Dating - not officially until they are 16 (boy comes to the house, meets the family, drives away, etc.) Realistically though, I know that many girls her age are 'talking' or 'going out with' young men. I told her that I know she will 'like' certain boys, and that is something that can't be controlled, but that she can not go on dates or be alone with them. Many times the kids get together to go to the movies, or hang out at each others house, etc., and the one they like is there, but they are not alone.
Makeup - 13 is the age when I allowed my daughters to wear more than just lipgloss. I had a skin care class done for them where they learned how to take care of their skin and how to choose the right color makeup and how to apply it. What I don't allow is lining the entire eye with black eyeliner...sorry but that just gives the wrong impression and is not flattering. They do wear a nice neutral eyeshadow, mascara, and lip gloss. For special occasions they wear foundation, and a little blush. Most girls your age have beautiful complexions and don't need much more than mascara and a pretty lipgloss.
Social life - again - the kids go to movies with friends, go out to eat, go to each other's sports games, church youth activities, etc. My kids don't have too much extra time because they also do 4-H and have to work around home!
Is 13 too young? NO! Not to have fun with friends- but not one on one with boys! Not to look your best, with a pure and smiling face! And not to choose your friends wisely, so you can have safe and wholesome fun!
Good Luck!

A little makeup is ok at 13. Going out on a date alone with a boy isn't ok till your 16. Group dating is fine at 15 usually. Stick with your friends for now. I know you want to grow up, but just try to hold on to your childhood alittle longer while you still can.

Dating - too young
Make-up? A little lip gloss
Social life? Even 5 year olds have social lives. If you have friends and hang around with them..you have a social life.

my sister is 13 and when i was 13 i never relized anything that was going on. looking at her and talking to her about school and everything seems really hard and stressfull for you young ones.
DATING - personally dating for a 13 year old is nothing like what you would see on TV. you going to have a lot of boy friends or girl friends in your life time so dont rush it now.
MAKEUP - when i was 12 i got really into black eyeliner and glitter. your going to relize that you dont need all that to make you look pretty. i myself still dont go out of the house with out black eyeliner on or really bright eye shadow that basically glows but thats also my style. find your style first and see what fits you best.
SOCIAL LIFE - i was always that kid who either didnt talk to anyone, and always beat everyone up. i never had any girl friends to talk to when i was younger and that actually still effects me today. i always felt like i got along better with boys anyways but one or two girlfriends to talk about things with is always nice too.
point being. you have alot to learn in life and your going to make a lot of mistakes.
just remember you havnt gotten into these subjects yet;
drugs, drinking, sex, partying.
have fun now while you still can

To quetions the depths of yourself is to questionyour life. It is never too early, nor never too late. If you are truely a soul that has connected in ... I'm sorry, but this question is too ... Lets just say it evoks saddness in me so I am sorry but i can not continue. All I will say is don't get involved unless your soul tells you to.

Unless you are fully responsible for yourself (i.e. pay your own bills, buy your own food, take care of your own transportation, wash, health insurance, buy your own clothes) then you are probably relying on someone else to do these things for you and they are probably someone who cares very much for you. Hence, you would do yourself good to respect the rules of the person who takes care of you. 13 by my standards is too young for dating unless an adult goes with you. Make-up okay so long as you don't look like a hooker. Social life of course you should have a social life. It is up to the adult in your life to allow you to spread your wings and mature within a safe environment.

Way too young for dating. Some tasteful make up is ok. A social life, sure, as long as your parents approve of and know where you are and who you are with.

Honey stay away from my son. 13 it's only been 10 years since you were in diapers. Chill Out. Take a breather and pretend you still like barbie. When you can earn a living then you can have your own life and I don't mean your allowance.

I've worn make-up since I was eleven
Dating means nothing at thirteen, but go ahead if you want
Social life is never a bad thing
You're never too young.
And most important: don't listen to the morons telling you otherwise, because those who matter don't care, and those who care don't matter.
