A selfish person just thinks of his life ( its also kind of living), does not want to do anything for other ( does not sacrifice), however some people tend to live by doing scarifices somes times, if they feel needed. so, some people are not afraid to lose life, even though they love it very much.

I have seen my grandfather die right in front of my eyes, and that is when I started my search to see if their was life after death! On my way I did witchcraft! nothing bad like drinking blood or killing babies (Scary) however I do not do that stuff anymore, I am a Christian, but I read lots of books on life after death! from the hundreds of books I have read they have guided me into what I know believe in and they have comfort me! I'm not scared to die because I know (in my opinion) that I chose my life with gods consent. I put up all my challenges in life. I know that their is going to be something 100 times better than here on earth and I'm excited to go when it is my time! the only thing that scares me about death is how my family will take it. I know you might not see the same way as I do and I don't want you to think I'm trying to say my way is right. I'm not I just wanted to answer your question with my opinion and show you why some people may not be scared to die!

TRUE ! A simple way to understand this would be to just say that a person who lives a contended life, has no expectations from it, and is therefore in a deep state of acceptance to also accept death cheerfully !
For the more inquisitive,......
Once a person can experience life in its fullest dimension, he experiences everything around as a part of himself. He experiences the unlimited nature of his 'self' . For such a person there is no death. It looks like a contradiction, but the only way to understand this is through experience ! This person has experienced the true meaning of death.... it is the absence of life, like darkness is just absence of light and cold is just absence of heat etc...
The fear of death can go only with the experience of what it is ! There are time-tested traditional practices to teach this. It can happen even casually, unexpectedly, unawares also to anyone who comes close to death like situation, and mind also ceases for a while, but rare and the experience might create more doubts than clarity , since it happened without preparation of mind, and sharing produces less support , being unique and rare, and less acceptable with a vast majority of scientific , logical people around !

What is there to lose? Life doesn't stop when the body dies. The body is just a space suit and a gas mask that allows you to play in this realm of existence. When your body wears out or breaks down, you just step out of it and do what you were doing before you put it on. There is no loss. When your car breaks down don't you just get another? Well, it's the same with bodies!
We just don't remember them all. The memory is in our subconscious mind.

Wouldn't that depend on what life is to a person? If someone believes that the purpose and ultimate fulfillment of life is death, then they would readily lose it (like the jihadi's). On the other hand, someone who believes that the ultimate fulfillment of life is to live it to it's fullest probably would be afraid to lose it.

"Love my life" has two meanings:
If you love your life too much you overdue it and this is very bad! If you love your life very much you love yourself too! You become selfish and you are very afraid of losing your life, because you believe it is very important!
The second meaning is that you love your life and you want to pass it as good as you can! You want to enjoy yourself and have fun! That's the good side! You want to pass your life pleasant and die happy! In that way you are not afraid to lose it, because you had enjoyed it!

For me true. Dead is part of the life. If you accept the reality you are not afraid to lose it.

Those who "truly" love life, love all life. They are willing to give up their lives for someone else. That is the ultimate gift, don't you think? That is how you live without fear, knowing that you would give up your life for another.

FALSE, they treasure life and will live it, but just acting stupid or wreckless is not the way to live or love life. Life can be treasured and experienced and one should be afraid of loosing it.
