No, I am a teacher in San Antonio, Tx and last September, you may remember, we had an influx of students from our neighboring state to the east. Several of these students had been labeled GT (Gifted and Talented) at home and then placed in my GT classes. Maybe due to the major crap they withstood to get here they suffered brain damage or just that state has issues these kiddos were functioning on a 3rd grade level in a 6th grade GT class!!! I researched some of the LA Education Agency and you know what??? The state is being ripped off by the federal government for the oil revenue. A certain perdcentatge is supposed to come back to Louisiana, but the federal government keeps it and the state doesn't complain #1. #2 they spend more money on keeping up the gambling than they do on their schools. Prior to Katrina there was very little monies being distributed to the schools!! No A/C, no technology, no textbooks! What is wrong with this picture? So, no Arizona is not the dumbest, maybe there is a language barrier with some of the Mexican immigrants, but that doesn't make them dumb! Trust me I have seen dumb!

How about doing some research into educational systems of Arizona in comparison with that of other states? Not to mention the rest of the world, in which educational standards and opportunities are quite deplorable. I think it's a rather vague question that can't seriously be answered. Just because you read it in the newspaper doesn't mean that it's absolutely true, take bias into consideration, not to mention reliable evidence.

I'd like to nominate my own state, Indiana, for that title. At least our leaders, the ones who voted to lease our Toll Road system to foreigners for a 75 year term, for less than $4 billion. Also for pushing the Time Zone issue which resulted in splitting the state, on a county by county basis. Now, some of our counties are on Eastern Time, and some are on Central Time. It really sucks. Maybe I'll move to Arizona.

It the newspaper that's dumb! Arizona is a smart state. I live there and was able to buy the Brooklyn Bridge from a dummy from New York for pennies on the dollar. I'm setting up toll booths, my contract says I can do it. I'll be kicking back in the sun here while the dummies from New York and New Jersey make me rich! Ha ha ha, suckers!

If it simply said "Arizona the dumbest state" then that was truly one of the dumbest articles. That's not even a sentence!

Why exactly does it say Arizona is the dumbest state?
I'm moving there when I turn 18.

I don't know, but Texas has some winners.
I vote Nevada as the smartest state - they're good at taking the other 49 states money ;-)

Acutally, West Virginia's Median household income is $31,008 while Arizona's is $40,762. So based upon thoses figures, West Virginia is probably the worse one. Typically, the higher your education level, the higher your salary.

New York is the dumbest state in the U.S.A.
Proof is: They voted in the Carpetbagger Hillary Clinton as Senator.
I live in a up-state NY red county, a pocket of sanity in a insane liberal state.
