maybe a little baby outfit, or a blanket with "Baby's First Christmas 2006"... and even better, have your daughter make him a christmas card!

Of course baby will need presents from santa. If its nothing but diapers buy something. Dont confuse the 4 yr old by not getting the baby anything ( why didnt santa bring the baby anything....has he been bad?....why...why ....why ( this is probably her favorite question anyways) Make new stockings together with the baby (sitting near by in a car seat or bouncy seat) Buy fuctionable things so that your new baby gets christmas and you dont go broke trying to buy cute things that have no purpose.
Diapers, blankets, outfits, stuffed bears, bottles, teething rings, bathtime stuff, towels, washing powder,
Take the kids to have their pics made at walmart together. Cherish every moment that you have with your kids, they grow up so fast and you will never get the chance to relive your babies first christmas. Make it special for the whole family.

Yes, Santa should leave all children presents! Of course, your baby won't need too many toys but a few things would be nice. Maybe an activity mat, some easy to hold rattles, teething rings... stuff like that. He will be using those kinds of things in the near future!

If santa doesn't leave the baby gifts too your daughter will notice and want an explanation. Get things you need or are about to need. Spoons and sippy cups make great stocking stuffers. Babys like rattles and teething toys and need clothing and blankets. Consider a high chair if you don't have one or a exersauser. Things you'll need for the baby anyway.

Oh yes! You must get your new little one some gifts from santa!! Christmas is a very specail time and even more wonderful for you with your new little gift! You get him/her some clothes, infant toys or maybe a blanket. Or maybe just buy the baby some things that he/she can use like bibs or booties. Things that will benefit you to have for the new baby too. Also your little girl will be thrilled to see that santa remembered her new baby brother or sister too!!!

Oh yeah, santa always leaves presents for babies! Make sure you get a picture of what Santa brought for the baby and put it his baby book! Uhh, probably some clothes or age appropriate toys... I have a 3 month old and i'm pondering the same thing!

I always did. I would wrap bottles, nipples, pacifiers, clothes. Anything that you may need, and maybe one or two toys. That way to the 4 year old it looks like the baby got presents. My 3 year old loved it when baby got presents too. Nothing to big though( in less you want to. ) Because baby really wont know the difference. I hope you enjoy your babies first christmas. Good luck.

Yeah My son was a month old when Christmas came and We bought him a cute plush teddy bear, a baby rattle and a few other things and he got some other cute toys from relatives. Definitley buy the baby gifts. Its his first Christmas and pictures with his new gifts would be nice to have when he is older.

My firstborn was born on December 18th (2003) and we still made it very special for her by buying small gifts, clothes, toys, lots of things saying "my first christmas" we also wondered if we should buy her gifts considering she would be only one week old but it doesn't matter how old she was it was still her "first christmas"
I also agree with the other posters take lots of photos and record everything, its such a special time..

yes, i certainly think that santa should leave some presents for you newborn, but nothing outrageous and nothing that you wouldn' normally buy if you were just walking through the store and see somehting. I would get probably only a few things for your newborn... and make one of those things something memorable which could become a keepsake.

if you're 4 year old is as inquisitive as mine was, she'll wonder why Santa forgot baby. How about a really cute stuffed animal? Don't forget to write what a great big sister she is in his note, she'll love that.
