well... there are still muslims in all those places.
I know that a muslim army once took over parts of what is now southern Spain.

Yes, Both Pakistan and Bangladesh are today Muslim countries, both were part of India when the British ruled. Although a minority in today's India there still are many Muslims there.
Islam got as far into Europe as Romania. Vlad Dracula or Vlad the Impaler fought against the Turks for many years. Greece was conquered by the Muslims. Today, Turkey, Albania and Bosnia are still Islamic.
They never made any headway in Italy, They conquered Spain but were stopped by Charles Martel at h.mmmm.. The Battle of Tours. I think they made some progress in Sicily.
