yes you can,there is cooling pads with built in fann for that perpose

You must be kidding
If you are having your laptop sitting on a desk and the fan discharge is at the bottom of the laptop, use a couple of thick (at least one inch thick) erasers or other non-slippery material under the laptop to facilitate the movement of the air discharged. I did this to my laptop and it works much cooler than before.

Yeah, i'm using one right now. The laptop sits on top of it and it has 3 fans. Its quieter than my laptop fan and generally keeps the laptop fan off. Uses 1.5W of elec. from USB port

Absolutely - make sure the fan is actually facing AWAY from the back of your computer. Like this the hot air will be "sucked" out of your computer!

Just make sure the fans blow OUT and not in. Some blow in, some blow out but you want that HEAT out of the laptop :-)
