I, like a bunch of others, have just had a rant in reply to a dodgy Springer-esque question about a black guy pimping his much younger girlfriend. Sure it's 99.9% likely to be a con. But doesn't the fact people thought about how they treat each other make it worth taking it seriously for a minute?

It's not a chat site, or a humor site (or even a pimp site).

It's supposed to be for questions and answers to those questions. Things like

I've got shrimp defrosting, but I'm sick of shrimp curry, what can I make?

Why do I poop at the same time each day?

How do I help my daughter who has been through so much grief?

Do atheists believe in souls?

Why don't humans have fur?

Is it easier to push or to pull something?

If someone has a question about the ethics or psychology of pimps, then that's a legitimate question. They can ask it, and, if there isn't so much sludge being posted that no one sees it, it might get an answer from the few people who weren't driven away by all of the sludge that has filled this site.

But, if people with real questions and real answers who come here only see garbage, they won't ask or answer, they'll just go away.

The thing to do with non-questions is to report them. Then, maybe, there will be more interesting questions and people who have the knowledge to answer them on this site.

It does, as some people's lives are so whacked out, it could be true.

Buit you get caught in a dilemma of being made a fool of on a question that is designed to test your gullibility or hosing it down, only to find it is all true

I did not see the one you mention. I normally give serious answers to even the most outlandish questions, when I decide to answer at all.

Of course, if the question seems to warrant it, I do so with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
