Can they keep it unlocked and I have to throw a good phone. I do not want to singup with them again. Please advise.

Unlock your phone by pressing star and send at the same time. If you are signing with another company ...then take the phone to that company and show them the phone ...they can get you the program code for that phone that will work with their company in 1 day.
I did it with T-mobile

if the phone is registered in your name then you can have it unlocked,there are places that will do it for a fee,even if it is not in your name.usually some of the the smaller electronic stores that sell phone will do ti

i agree with the first answer. good luck! i have a cingular phone.. you know the one with the fewest dropped calls? yeah.. is that why i can't call anyone with out getting call failed 50 times? my phone is a roamer so it finds the best possible signal so i all ways have a signal. yeah not anymore!

have it unlocked here in the Philippines!we have plenty of guys here who can simply unlock phones without a sweat...
