Yes. I was very young and remember it being a big event. I went with my grandmother one summer evening. It was closeby so we walked.

Music and perfume filled the air. The canvas tent seemed enormous and was filled with wooden folding chairs. Several men dressed in suits stood at the back exit. Women used old fashioned hand-held fans with scripture verses and pictures of Jesus printed on them. I don't remember what the sermon was about, though.

Thanks for helping me recall that revival. It was a part of my childhood. I hadn't thought of it for many years.

Yes, I have attended several tent revivals (one lasted an entire week). It was typically an evangelical church service with hard hitting preaching. The music was a little different. A guitar was used instead of a piano, and the preaching was done by visiting preachers which gave a little variety to the messages brought. They were very uplifting experiences.

If the Televangelist became the bodacious Fireball herself, i may be there Hell or severe-water.
