Me and my best friend both like the same guy. She is going out with a different guy but still likes him. She is planning to break up with her boyfriend to go out with this guy...but I think she is trying to forget that I like him... that doesn’t bother me so much, but I feel guilty because I like him and she does too, and I know that he likes her... I feel guilty because I know I should be happy for her instead of feeling jealous. Should I feel guilty?

Nope. You shouldn't feel guilty at all. You should be happy for the both of them. You can't force him to like you. And you can't force her to just give him up. Just be happy, and you'll find someone who you'll appreciate more than anything later on in life

Guilty for feeling jealous, No. Doing any thing that would harm their relationship, Yes. It always sucks when you and a friend like the same person. You should talk to your friend and tell her your true feelings and then tell her if she doesn't drop her old guy with in the next day you will try to hook up with the new guy first. This puts the ball in her court. If she really likes the new guy she will drop the old guy and start up with the new guy. And if your not out of high school or collage odds are they wont be together to long. Then you can try him out and your friend wont be able to say any thing about it. Good luck in any case.

I guess I'd be a little hurt too if the guy I liked was into my friend instead of me. But if he doesn't like you in that way, and you know that he likes her and she likes him, it's probably better to cut your losses. You don't need some boy that doesn't like you like that. You deserve a relationship where the guy is all about you, all eyes on you, all thoughts on you, YOU are the one he wants.

I know it must be hard, but try focusing that guilt and jealousy to being happy for her. Or if you can't do that just yet, try focusing on something other than that, like schoolwork or extracurricular activities. Try just being friends with your friend, a friend like you've always been, and if the topic gets to be too much, let her know you aren't that comfortable with it just yet.

Try not to beat yourself up too much. It's only normal to feel a little bit jealous in your situation.

No! you shouldn't feel guilty at all. If anything she should feel guilty because shes ignoring that you like him. If i was you i would ask him out before she does and after she breaks up with that other guy that way shes all alone. She doesn't deserve the guy shes all ready going out with because its almost like shes cheating on him. If i was you i would go for my man and i wouldn't let her stand in the way because she obviously isn't takin your feelings into consideration.

Does he like you? Remember men will come and go but you will have friends for a lifetime. Let her take this guy - I guarantee their relationship will last about 3 months until she likes someone else and breaks up with him.

Look don't feel guilty just let her have him and if he rejects her and says that he likes you instead of her than there you go, because she should let you have him since she has a man but hey you just step aside and don't risk your friendship over a man, remember it's not worth it.

well first things first, you cant change your feelings, or hers, however i do find it quite selfish of her to not consider your feelings when she is making these decisions. because you are thinking of hers. just let her know that you like this guy, and that you'll be happy for her whatever she decides. she if she is breaking up with one guy for another, who is to say she wont do the same thing to this guy? i wish you the best of luck.

No you haven't done anything wrong. Would she like him if you didn't? sometimes you really have to watch those kinds of "friends" Besides if she already has a boyfriend she really shouldn't be looking around for another now should she.

Nah, not really. Remember nearly everybody thinks that it is each man for himself. If you don't even have a boyfriend, you should definitely not feel guilty.

If she already has a boyfriend, you shouldn't feel guilty for liking this guy.
