There are 10 frames in a game of bowling. But, if you get a strike in a frame, the accumulated score for that frame is 10 + the total pins for the next two balls thrown.
If you bowl a strike in all 10 frames, you still get to bowl two more times because of the 10th one, thus 12 strikes total.
Those 12 strikes = a perfect game of 300.
With all 10 frames being a strike, the accumulated score for each frame is:
First = 30
Second = 60
Third = 90
Fourth = 120
Fifth = 150
Sixth = 180
Seventh = 210
Eighth = 240
Ninth = 270
Tenth = 300, which is a perfect score in bowling!

Twelve strikes is 300. The last strike is done only to pin score the strike in the 10th frame.
