I know your not doctors but I just want to know if anybody has experienced any of these kinds of things and what you all did to help yourself out...thanks in advance..AND BE NICE...OR DONT ANSWER.

OMG, had the exact same problem with my first two, and I HAVE THE ANSWER. The problem is, believe it or not, stool softeners (Colace). The same thing happened to me, I would get a little stomach pain and within minutes I would be doubled over in the bathroom. By my third pregnancy I learned that the Colace was causing this intense reaction. Get rid of the colace and concentrate on the foods you eat. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids (Apply juice or prune juice and even water). Eat lots of fruit and have popcorn every night. The constipation will get better in a month or two.

Hi. I used to have the same problem, but I would go a week or so at a time and not go. The first few days it wouldn't bother me at all, then a few days later I would get crampy and just miserable, and then eventually I too would have v ery bad cramps and have diarreah for a few hours. I tried everything and nothing worked. My doctor prescribed me stool softners and they still didn't work.
Now, I am 25 weeks pregnant and go pretty regular. I think that it just takes some time and your body will figure things out. Just let it take its course and hopefully you too will feel better. Good luck

I am 21 weeks pregnant and I will tell you that this is a common thing. The What to Expect Book talks about it and could be a good resource for you. As long as we are on this delicate subject, hemmoroids are also more common in pregnancy. Constipation and hemmoroids are a terrible combination and can cause pain and bleeding. So, to make a long story short, you are not alone, but definately let your doctor know about your new symptom.

I have two suggestions. Try Auctiva, it's that special yogurt, to help get andkeep your digestive tract regulated. Also get some Phillips, Milk of Magnesia. Make sure you get the minty flavored one, because the original really does taste like pooh lol. It works awesome and won't give you a belly ache, and works relatively fast.
The constipation is normal, though aggrivating. Drink plenty of water and keep sugars, fat, fried, greasy, and processed foods to a minimum.

You need to take a natural herbal pill. FIBER, it is safe for you and the baby. If you drink a fiber shake also, this will cleanse the colon. Eat a lot of kiwi fruit, and eat the skin. My mother died of colon cancer, kiwi's skin has tons of fiber and will cleanse the colon and kidney's as well. Go to GNC and get some natural fiber, make shakes and you will feel relief. Good luck and hang in there. The rewards are so worth it.

I had it too!!! Thing is it can be dangerouse. The stool is a toxin and it being in your body for a long periods of time is bad. If it goes on for longer than 10-14 days contact your doc about your concern.

Constipation during pregnancy is normal but it's AWFUL !! If you tried everything and it just hasn't worked maybe you should ask your doctor about it as straining isn't a good idea at all. All the best.

If you are going every 2 days that's perfectly normal amount of time between bowel mov'ts. It's normal not to have a BM for upto 3 days. Maybe it's some gas that's causing your stomach to cramp up.

I had Gestational anemia and was put on iron pills I was so constipated that i couldnt even work. this worked for me but depends on your taste; eat alot of greens. fresh green if they do not work maybe each day you need to take a 30 min break to relaxe like yoga or reading, knitting or painting. sometimes just relaxing your entire body will stop the constipatio. I know sounds wierd but it worked for me.
