Harry & Alice went to the palace
to make a request of the king
Harry & Alice went to the palace
to ask to borrow his ring

Highness, said Alice
Don't mean to sound callous
But could we please borrow your ring?
Highness we implore you,
You know we adore you
added Harry as he stared at the king

You peasants you know
I can't let you go
once you make such an impertinent request
I banish ye both
to land of the ghosts
away on an island so far

And so they were sent
and many years spent
on an island just of the coast

I like it. it's simple and direct, yet entertaining. However, watch the spelling of "off" in the last line. Oh- and nice rhymes by the way.

"on an island just of the coast"

I think it would be much better if you said...

"on an island just off of the coast"

This would fix the break in the beat.

Other than that, it's a good poem for something so direct and methodical. Some people like that. For anyone else.... don't worry about it. If you want some good philosophical reading on the subject of art and life in general, read Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke.

Not sure there is a morale, or a lesson here. First part better than last which sort of falls short.

Put this poem in a nice childrens book, and I am sure you'll have thousands that love your poem.
But me, I can't say?
