Ultimately, the EASIEST way is to get him involved in the process. If he voluntarily relinquishes his parental rights then you can do it with the least fuss. In any case it will involve lawyers, the courts, & attempts to notify the father of your intentions.
You didn't say if you are married at the present time, so I am assuming that you are not. But even if you DID get married, & your husband wanted to legally adopt your daughter as his own, you would still need to find the father & get his consent to do that.

Go to a family lawyer, and they can let you know exactly what to do. Depending on what state you are in, which all laws are different in states. It will be pricely, but it will be well worth it. But I do believe that he has so many days to respond when they send him the paper work, and if he doesnt respond, then you have every right to do what you want. Good luck to you. Just call around to different family lawyers to see if they will do it, (the state i live in, some lawyers wont even mess with something like this)

Are you asking how to have him declared unfit and basically a 'non' parent?? You should talk to an attorney, of course then the courts will be involved and will more than likely order him to start seeing his child. Not to mention if you are on state aid they will go after him for partial repayment.

if not mistaken you will have to get him to give up his rights to his daughter.
the best thing for you to do is contact a lawyer and get the lawyers advice. you usually can get a free consultation to get the ball rolling.
GOOD LUCK and i hope things work out the way you want them too and for the best.

See a family lawyer about legally terminating his parental rights.

Leave it! Your daughter has a right to have that name on there!

the easiest way might be to go back in time adn not do it, sicne you will now probably have to deal with the court system and lawers. that sucks
