I've done the onion thing along with tempra. If they have a bad cough, ice water. Really cold ice water in a slow sip bottle. The baby won't gorge themselves with water and if you're lucky no gas. Think how nice ice water is on your throat if you've got a bad cough.

Let him get rest.... if he can. If he has a temperature, you can use baby tylenol or you can put vinegar on a wash cloth and put that on his feet. It sounds weird, but it works.
Keep up his fluid intake. If he will take breast milk, give it to him, because it has natural antioxidants and healing properties. If not make sure he gets water and juice. Even if he only takes a little bit at a time.
Keep him warm. He can "sweat the flu out" so to speak.
Talk to your doctor if you are concerned. Also he is old enough now so that he can get the flu shot this year. It will be done in 2 stages, so that you can prevent futures sicknesses.
Good Luck!

If it's the kind of flu with a stuffy head or chest like a really bad cold, use onion. Onion is an excellent natural decongestant. Slice a big onion and put a couple of slices on a small saucer near your baby, where he can't help but breathe in those delightful fumes. When the slices aren't as potent, replace them with new ones. Don't feed it to him, but just let him smell it. After awhile, your little angel will smell like he needs a shower, but his head will be clear. He'll be more comfortable eating or nursing.

Give him alot of fluids. It is ok not to give him any breast milk or formula. Pedialyte and water is ok. Also, try giving him an apple cider vinegar bath. Or anything with lavendar that weill help to ease him a little. Then just snuggle with him a lot. Take him to the doctor if he keeps vomiting and his diapers aren't as wet as usual. It is better to be safe than sorry. Also If he has a fever you can give him Tylenol for infants. The vinegar bath will also bring his temperature down. I really feel for you. Give that little guy a lot of love and snuggle time. He will be better in no time.

Cuddle and nurse as much as possible. I find wearing my baby in a sling or baby carrier can help soothe her when she is sick. It is a time when babies especially need to be close to their moms, I think.
I disagree strongly with the previous answers that suggested that breastmilk is not as important for a sick baby. Breastmilk has many advantages over pedialyte and other fluids. It contains concentrated nutrients which as easy for the baby to digest (not just the salt and sugar found in Pedialyte) and also contains antibodies. Breastmilk will keep your baby hydrated just as well as any other fluid. Plus the action of nursing is naturally comforting and pain-relieving to the baby. You should breastfeed a sick baby more often, not less.

Oh my you have to ask about nurture....you take care of him, give him the medicine he needs, love him bunches, hold him and make sure he is comfortable. Other than that I am in a little way hoping that the rest of "nurture" comes naturally.

My daughter is 6 months & 1 week - she can't sit or crawl yet!! If I sit her up and prop her up with something (a pillow or my body) she can stay up for a little bit, but she usually just topples over especially if she sees a toy she wants. She can roll over and spin around, but no crawling yet. All babies are different, give him time and be proud that he is already crawling!!

You give him lots of loving!! Do things that you think would make him feel as comfortable as he can be. Make sure you talk to his doctor if you haven't already. Poor lil guy, I hope he gets to feeling better!
