Is it any wonder that they don't talk about national defense?

They have done a pretty good job of attacking our President so I would say they are pretty tough hiding behind their hate and lies.

It's not that Democrats aren't "tough" on national defense. They just tend to find many of the programs in violation with the Constitution and other laws. For example, the NSA program violates the 4th amendment. While some rights may be temporally revoked during a time of war, this is a war on terror. A war with no definite end. In addition, the FISA Act of 1978 allows for unwarranted wiretaps stating they can occur for 72 hours, after which they must file for a warrant. Also, the anti-terrorism bill that speaks of the Geneva Convention contains main faults aside from a violation of Common Article 3. It also has a vague definition of an enemy combatant (which could possibly be used against US citizens), it denies the writ of habeas corpus (denying the right to know what they are accused of), and allow the use of coerced evidence (evidence that has rarely been proven reliable).

They are tough on defense when it comes to approving the military budget. National defense and management of the military are certainly not their forte so they tend to avoid it like the plague (no ideas, just criticism).

Still haven't captured Bin Laden
Planes are still flying into buildings.
Let Saddam go to trial in his own country instead of executing him here.
Let every illegal alien who wants to come in this country in. Nobody is really watching the Mexican Border.
Invaded a country under false pretenses.
Cut survivor benefits to the families of the fallen.

They are not.If 911 would have happened on a democrats watch,we(the ones with their heads still attached) would be speaking Arabic by now.

All talk, no action. The problem the Democrats have is there is a conservative media that exposes them for what they actually do. 20 years ago, they would not have been exposed. The liberal media would and still does work to get liberals elected.
