yes i agree it just proves my theory that 98% of the population are dumb
Big Brother all the people who watch this dribble i wonder if they care what there neighbours are doing
Aust Idol why would you want to watch some poor soul make a fool of themselves on TV trying to sing what i have seen on adverts they sound like a cat with its tail caught in the door but then again it could be more than 98%

well I don't think people are brain dead. Everybody is different just because you don't like something there is no need to insult others that do.
I thinkl they are popular because the teenagers can relate to whats happening to these people ie Big Brother.
Idol is popular because of some of the talent some of the drama's and people making fun of them self at the auditions.
I enjoy these lighthearted reality shows because I really can't stand to watch all the US cop shows that are on.

They are very cheap to produce, no pro actors fees, no creative talent fees, no script writers. No royalties for the people in them and they draw large audiences for HIGH advertising revenues.

I actually dont really like reality shows but, the ones on A&E are the best ones.

They put them on TV because they take less effort (e.g. paying for scripts and sets) than other TV shows and, face it, you can't do reality shows in the theaters because no one in their right mind would pay to see them.

Most tv is pure garbage.
For the networks, reality tv is much cheaper to produce bc they don't pay their "stars"
The internet isn't much better...
