You're right. It doesn't make sense. States made up their own drinking ages until 1984. They were basically forced to change the age to 21. If they did not, they faced cuts in funding for their transportation departments.

I have no idea, but I completely disagree with that whole philosophy.
If someone is old enough to go to war and defend our country, then why in the hell aren't they considered old enough to drink a beer!?
