Yes, I believe they are safe, but it may not look as nice on your face as does on the rest of your body. They make self-tanning lotions specifically for the face and that's what I would use.
I have used "Lancome Flash Bronzer" self-tanning gel for a few years now and I love it! I only use it on my legs and they always look nice and tan. Plus it has this very slight, glittery stuff in it that looks pretty cool.
I believe Lancome makes a self-tanner for the face. If not, they can tell you who does.
Also, if you are going on a cruise or to a special event, go to one of those tanning places and get a spray-on tan. My daughter does that and her whole body has a beautiful tan for at least a week.
If you buy the cheap self tanners your skin may look orange so spend a little extra and buy the good stuff.

Mmm you can gte ones that are especially for the face, but remember to wash your face, and remeber to use a very small amout on your face. You don't want it to turn too orange to fast!! Good luck!

Get one that specifically is for your face rather than use one that isn't intended.
