A church near where I live actually went through a similar experience.
The cheating is wrong. There is no doubt about it.
The man here gave up his position as pastor of the church, which he should have.
He is a human and makes mistakes. He should be forgiven if he is willing to repent.
A man is not even thinking about the damage he is doing to his wife or children.
God is forgiving, but this man has put the sin of adultery before serving God. This breaks God's heart. The Bible tells us that God will chastize his children who sin. He does this as a Father who loves his children.

Pastors are sinners just like the rest of us, but there's no way I'd keep going to the church if the pastor still worked there after that. Pastors should be leaders, lead by example. Cheating and leaving your wife isn't a great example, how could anyone take him seriously after this? He can definitely be forgiven, but actions have consequences regardless of the forgiveness.

I'd think he wouldn't be my pastor anymore. As a teen, my pastor, whom I adored, did this. He was fired by the church. I missed him terribly and decades later still do-- but he was dead wrong not to work on his marriage with his wife before cheating; heck, before even thinking of cheating.
If the relationship simply could not be repaired, then it would be time to officially end the marriage and THEN it would be time for him to find a new partner.

These things happen frequently enough. If it's true, the cheating and abandonment tells you about what is in that Pastor's heart - "By their fruits you shall know them." It is possible that he repents, but in that case why hasn't he made things right with his wife? He is making a bad thing worse if he tries to hide it.
What would you think about a Doctor who smokes and is fat? He still has the medical degree, and you don't. He can provide you some guidance. He may be trying. But if that Doctor lives unhealthily, it is clear that he hasn't really internalized the art of living healthily. Likewise for your (hypothetical) Pastor.

I think he was human, but also he shouldn't be a pastor anymore. Until he has some time to make peace with this. He is suppose to be a good example and he was a very BAD example.
He needs to resign his post and get another job. Perhaps in the future when he can be a good example and work in a church again.
I would be pisssssedd big time. And very disappointed in him.
Shame on him!!!

Why are you approximately to do what you does no longer tolerate out of your own fiance? What you may desire to do is provide up what you're doing now. think of approximately what this so-called pastor (a guy of God?) is doing. he's forsaking his spouse at a time that she desires him the main now. he's likewise spitting in God's face by way of pursuing this dating with you. i've got faith which you recognize on your heart that that's incorrect. the spectacular concern could be to diminish him off thoroughly. not greater determining at that well being center, stumble on a clean church, and maximum of all, pass till now God in prayer and repentance. Get your life lower back on the right music. It grew to become into complicated looking out that your fiance grew to become into cheating on you, do no longer permit your emotional permit down take you in a foul direction which you will sense sorry approximately for something of your life.

Not great but...
Everyone is human...
No its not right but everyone has faults and sin grows in everyones hearts. You cant blame just him because it takes 2.
Its up to you personally how YOU may react to a given situation.
If he wasnt a pastor would it be such a bad thing? Yes it would... It may seem worse because he doesn't act on what he preaches but, there are lots of people that dont practice what they preach as well.
Just my 2 cents worth :P

I would think that he never really understood what it means to be a pastor and that he is scum and he will get his in the end. The church should throw him out on his butt. Not to mention what his family should do to him .
