I've been thinking much lately about how our "FREE" country isn't so free anymore. I don't mind many of the rules that are put upon us but, some do. And it is frightening how the Government of our country is slowly but surely taking away most of our rights and freedoms as citizens. We are fighting a war and helping other countries gain freedom while ours is slowly being taken away. Am I nuts are do others see the slow process we are going through and does anyone picture the end result? Have any others really thought about the changes our country is going through?

I don't think many of the restrictions that are being and have been put on us over the last several years are due to war. I don't feel that freedoms taken away from us have anything to do with it. I agree it is disrespectful and obnoxious to smoke infront or around others who choose not to smoke but ... really ... does the government of a "free" country think it is their place to ban smoking in cities? For heavens sake... don't the owner's of the businesses have the right to decide if they will allow it in their place of business? Our government says, "NO". This is the type of issue that is concerning me. Do parents have the freedom to decide if their teenage children get drug tested? Our government says, "NO". They can do it when ever they choose. I don't think it's a bad idea to test them. I do think it is degrading if there is no reason to believe they need to be tested. We as parents are losing rights everyday. Doesn't anyone else see a problem with this?

Its already over. They just don't have enough people brainwashed into compliance yet. Just look at how the schools are teaching compliance rather than actualy following the laws. ie. (you don't question authority without paying dearly) I give it bout 15 years when the current youth are adults and the old gen.s are going out. Most people in this country belive the US is a Democoracy.(MassMob rule) The Constitution plainly states the US is a Republic (Rule of Law) As long as people continue thinking any whim of the majority (reguardless if its aginst the constitution shud be law) can be voted into law. Also this idea that the gov. needs special exclusions that alow them to get around the Constitution. is BS. How can we have rule of law when their are people and agencys above the law. Were doomed and the fools in this country is gonna welcome it with open arms.

I also have been noticing and thinking about how our country isn't "free" anymore. We aren't really helping other countries gain freedom because all we are doing is really putting more restrictions on them and ourselves. I see the slow process we are going through and i see the end result. The end result doesn't have bush in office anymore, he becomes just another face in the crowd and we have a president who actually fights for the people and tells things that we might not want to hear but need to hear. I see a president who speaks for all immigrants and Americans and new Americans. I see a president who is a representation of what American should be. The changes our country is going through is indeed something our fore fathers would not want. America is no longer what it stands for with bush in office and as longer as he is in office then we wont have freedom and the things that are suppose to be given to us because of our rights.

Lol....chica. When was the last time anyone told you no about anything, here? Please.

You want a taste of what it's like to not be free? Take a trip to Saudi Arabia. After you get beaten a few times because you allowed a stray hair to be seen outside your burka and watched a friend or two get executed because they refused to convert to islam, I doubt you will make the mistake again.

The American Patriot Act took more of our rights away than any other law passed in history. Supposedly, this law was to aid in defending our country against terrorism, but in reality it has taken our basic freedoms that are guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. I hope other Americans will wake up to this reality before it is too late.

All I have to say is: YOU TAKE THIS COUNTRY FOR GRANTED, DO NOT BE A FOOL!!! THERE ARE GREAT THINGS HERE THAT ARE STILL FREE, BUT WITH A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE THAT LOOKS ONLY ON THE BAD SIDE, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO SEE THIS!!!!
I AM ABLE TO SAY THIS WITHOUT GETTING SHOT OR ARRESTED, SO SURELY THAT MUST MEAN SOMETHING!!!!

You are nuts.

Do you have the freedom to criticize the government?
Do you have the freedom to have abortions?
Do you have the freedom to have sex?
Do you have the freedom to go into any church of your choice and worship as you please?
Do you have the freedom to ...................

Aw heck. I'm getting tired of belaboring the obvious to someone who is asleep and can't tell that her nightmare isn't reality.

Yes, I've thought about it.
But I also realize that some rights are ALWAYS taken away when we're at war, and they're ALWAYS returned afterwards.
So, I'm not that worried about it.
