People have a right to come to their own conclusions reguarding God, Jesus, Heaven and Hell. That's the whole point of Christianity. God wants us to choose. He's not going to choose for us.
I've read some of the answers posted to this question and I've got a few responses. And I write this with all due respect.
First off, when you're trying to witness to someone there are better ways to do that talking about a screaming everlasting fire and brimstone hell. You're not going to gain any ground with that approach. It's too much like banging your head against a wall, it just doesn't work.
To the Egyptian: I love history, I've always been fascinated by that country and would love to see it. And yes, God did some terrible things in Egypt. But the Egyptians were doing some pretty terrible things to the people of God. They were enslaved for 4000 years give or take, and God decided enough was enough. But if you read the book of Exodus you'll discover that God spared anyone, the Hebrews as well as the few Egyptians that painted their doorways with the blood of the sacrificial lamb. He would have spared every single Egyptian if they had just listened to what his servant Moses was saying.
To those who don't believe......I respect your right to not believe. It doesn't make me any better than you. Just because I'm a Christian doesn't mean I have the right to judge you; that's not my job. I have problems of my own to fix on a daily basis just like everyone else. It's not up to me to straight out tell someone BELIEVE IN JESUS OR YOU'RE GOING TO HELL!!! in my best James Earl Jones voice. Only the individual can decide where they're going to spend eternity.
One of my cousins and his wife are Athiests and I love them all to pieces. Never once have I hounded them into believing nor would I ever do that. I may not agree with them and I hope that someday they'll want to talk about it.
Another thing that suprises me is the number of people who claim to not believe in God, but I see quite a few of people posting to this forum anyway. If it was a subject you don't want to hear about then why visit the forum? Let us crazy Christians be so that we can share our beliefs and worship the Lord.
But if you do insist on visiting the forum, don't be suprised by what you read. Especially when the question is pretty self-explainatory.
I would challenge the non-believers who have never picked up a Bible to do so. And really read it. It's not going to bite you or brainwash you. Let it speak to you, take a leap of faith. Faith isn't always easy; faith is downright hard sometimes. Just because I'm a Christian doesn't mean that I never have any problems now. I do. I have plenty of them. And my faith is challenged on a daily basis. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.
But God still loves me.
For Joshua Washburn.....no offense meant, but every single person on this planet is not worthy to get into Heaven on their own. No matter how good their works are or how many good deeds they do, how many times they go to church, or how much they give to their church, none of this means anything if you're not doing it for God.
Not one of us is worthy of Heaven. We were all born into sin and sin cannot stand in the presence of God. We must have forgiveness for those sins. Which means there has to be a sacrifice. There was. Jesus Christ was that sacrifice.
I wasn't there but the day before Jesus was arrested he spent the night in the garden of Gethsemane on his knees begging his Father to find another way. But there were none. Only a perfect sacrifice could redeem the entire human race. And Jesus physically went through hell itself just so he wouldn't have to go to Heaven without us.
We were all on a one-way road to hell before Jesus showed up. Some of us are still on that road. Whenever you want a change of scenery, please just look up.

Exodus 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
11:6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel
I'm egyptian and have a big problem with your "loving" god.

Hello Christian,
Do you really consider youself a chirstian by showing people what hell is like.
For us non-believers, we believe that there is no hell.
Logically, ask your self how can a dead person scream with out a mouth and with out a brain.
Kick a tree it is dead as you will one day be.
How can you feel pain with out a brain.
No one will ever scream in hell, don't be scared of death.
No one is spending eternaly in any place especally hell.
Not a single person on earth deserves to go to hell, and then you of all the christians in the world go ahead and decied to tell every one that if they don't believe in Jesus they will burn forever.
I am sorry bub, that's not how it is.
But you asked why won't we...
Because we do not believe.
If I go to hell when I die one day then for certain I will know that God is unfair.
Please sir/mam'am stop, before your brain can't handle the fear anymore.

this boy doesn't love you as much as you think-he is using you for sex as seen by his lying about not touching you if you got back together. If you don't get out of this relationship and ask God's forgiveness (and He will forgive us but only if we don't keep on deliberately living in sin)-you are putting someone ahead of your commitment to God and that He will despise. please don't let this boy ruin your relationship with our Lord who died for your sins and mine! Your choice where you will spend eternity=-heaven or hell. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you get over this young man and don't worry, satan will try his best to keep you bound up with him-you and you alone make the choice, You left him once before, you can do it and turn from him and know that God has just the right guy waiting for you no matter how long it takes for you both to find one another. marlynem

Because god (I refuse to spell him with a capitol letter) is a fictional character created so man could take control through installing fear in it's followers through the bed time story of Heaven and Hell?
Hey, all you zealous ninnies should study some science and anthropology! =D

It is distressing that people use this forum to preach there own brand of ideology. Let it go. Get on with your own life. Concentrate on saving your own soul.

Why are you using the concept of hell to convice people to follow your religion. You are using fear to scare\coerce people into religion.

The Lord is my shepherd! Those who don't believe in Him will forever be condemned to an eternity of suffering, hellfire and brimstone. I would certainly not want that on my soul.
