The other answers seem to be directed at the question of "what are the oldest books/writings."

The oldest recorded history books, meaning, those writings intended to convey something of the actual events of the recent past, are those of Herodatus, the Greek known as the "Father of History." (sorry to get patriarchal on you--it was a patriarchal time). He wrote a set of Herodotus' Histories that lays out the history of the conflict between the Persian Empire and the Greeks in great detail. Roughly 5th century B.C.

You could view some parts of the Old Testament / Torah (Bible)as older recorded history, but, much of it is didactic instead of historical in intent.

the oldest known books are some ancient Sumerian texts. interestingly, though they pre-date the bible, they have some of the same stories (like the flood story).
