i put a 600cfm carb on my 383 magnum in my 69 charger and was test driving it. i took it out and tried gunning it from a stop and there was not really that much torque, my wheels didnt spin and i know with that engine it should rip a hole in the road. whats wrong?

What's wrong? You need a 440 block, a 4.15" stroker kit and an 850 carb, and a 10" torque converter, then the tires will spin at will.

Just bolting on a bigger carb ant gonna do it. You have to tune that carb. You need to check the jetting. If it is slow off the line, is it set to rich, is it getting to much gas.
Did you set the air screws?
Man just bolting on a carb you need someone that is professent in carbs to tune it to your car.
All these things will affect the way the car runs.

It could be many things. Are you getting enough fuel supply? I don't really believe these carbs that are setup at the factory??? I usually re-check everything anyways. Get a good manual and you should be fine. Check the accelerator pump and float levels maybe? Good Luck!!!

is that all you did to it? or is the motor a fresh motor? Sounds like a mismatch carb/motor, you may be starving it for fuel. I agree with putting a larger carb on it.

IF IT IS A 1850 VACUUM SECONDARY IT IS WAY TOO SMALL.
BET YOU IT RAN BETTER WITH THE 750.
TRADE IT FOR A750 VAC. SEC. CHECK YOUR TIMING AT IDLE AND TOTAL AT 2500 RPM I THINK YOU WILL FIND THE ANSWER HERE. YOU NEED 36-39 AT 2500 RPM

Check and make sure the rear butterfly is opening -- if this a vac. type unit vs mechanical it could be bad hose or plugged port.
