Flyers fan here (another loss by the Eagles and the icon gets changed).

I think it started in the 70's when they bullied their way to the two Cups they won. But I loved them. Then you consider how they have won consistently during the regular seasons only to fail while playing for the Cup 5 other times.

Many fans have teams that go further with less money (Devils) and fans whose teams don't make use of the money they earn (Blackhawks). I guess they are kinda envious for how the team has done all these years.

Personally, I don't think Ed Snider has really changed anything by putting Holmgren in Clarke's place. I really wish he didn't fire Hitch either. Ed needs to cede control to an energetic, contemporary and local person like Pat Croce.

the rationalization I hate the Flyers is back in the 1970's and early 80's they performed a grimy interest. I hate Bobby Clarke. He develop right into a grimy hockey participant. Bobby Clarke's and the Flyers' ideas-set develop into that each and every thing Bobby Clarke did on the ice he develop into appropriate no count number what. If anybody could attempt to combat Bobby Clarke you're able to see a minimum of three or 4 Flyers beat the guy up who could combat Clarke. Clarke could start up alot of fights yet could never combat himself. Ed Snider develop into at the back of the Flyers' form of play. back in the 1969 playoffs the Flyers and the Blues performed in the 1st around. between the plager brothers positioned Gary Dornhoefer into the boards. Dornhoefer have been given a broken leg. It made Snider mad. as a results of fact of this Snider needed a goon hockey team. He additionally beleived in Conn Smythe's asserting, " in case you may no longer beat them in the alley you may no longer beat them on the ice." alongside with Ed Snider being at the back of the way the Flyers performed Keith allen and Fred Shero have been additionally at the back of it too. for individuals that do no longer beleive me examine the e book that Dave Schultz wrote ,"The Hammer Confessions of a Hockey Enforcer." I examine the e book. i did no longer could desire to examine the e book to keep in mind the grimy interest the Philadelphia Flyers performed at that factor. Like alot of different hockey followers from the 1970's do not forget it.

Like someone already said, they've always had a team of goons. I don't hate them as much as the Leafs or the Canucks. They're in the Eastern Conference, my Flames are in the West, so I don't care too much about them. Good move getting rid of Clarke and Hitchcock. Maybe Pat Quinn will resurface...

Because they are goons and bums and have been for years, and now that the franchise has given up on the year all the teams in the old Patrick Division are doing cart-wheels and laughing at their demise.

Because they are a bunch of goons. For years they have played dirty hockey. When Lindros was on the team you had to listen to him whine all the time.
